photographer laure joliet is incredibly talented, i've been following her blog for a while now, and yesterday her house was featured on sfgirlbybay, check it out. all photos by laure joliet Add Comment bf and i would like to eventually buy a house in the neighborhood where we currently reside, but a renovation project in which we can do the build out to our liking in an old house. these photos are representative of features i'd like. i love the inlaid flooring, typical in the houses of our area and time period. i wanted glossy black interior doors in the house where we are now, but the owner would not go for it. i definitely want white walls and black doors. i love a transom as well. i really like the textured glass inserts in the solid old interior doors. this weekend we packed it up and headed to rockville. filled with friends, swine, craft beers and outdoor activities, enjoyment was shared around. here is a glimpse of the weekend without evidence of our beautiful bike ride saturday morning with friends on their santana tandem on wadmalaw and the bounty of a swine fest later that evening in which copious amounts of delicious slow smoked boston butts and rivalry side dishes fed the masses. just about every morning the shrimp boats leave for deeper water and come back with decks chock full of fresh local shrimp. the front porch, under a beautiful old water oak. friends, y. and j. whom we rode with saturday morning, let's just say y. is a natural. team mascot. maggie mason of mighty girl is promoting making your own mighty life list and i thought, i too would come up with a life list to be scratched off and added to. ann's mighty life list purchase and renovate a house. make my own perfume. go through the panama canal.own an airstream. vacation on a lake with a pontoon boat. ride a bike in Copenhagen. live on a boat in Amsterdam. visit Venice. participate in a flash mob. sail the Grecian islands. go to Fiji. keep chickens. have a pet Shetland pony. train for Paris-Brest-Paris. be my own boss. make a quilt.train to be a hairdresser. grow a successful year-round vegetable garden. ride RAGBRAI. go to Iceland in the winter. ride in a float plane. buy my own black truffle to cook with. make a couch. try painting with oils. start a bike share program in charleston. inspire others to take a stand for principles. what is on your list?? i love these photographs by South Korean photographer Myoung Ho Lee. he uses a blank canvas beind it to pull the tree out of the landscpe, i just love them, especially the third one down. i love this guy! he started stenciling around montreal streets initially because he thought they needed more bike paths. he was later arrested, but given a lenient sentence attributed to public support. he has gone on to receive public comissions. love this work , and his mission. i love this time of year when the light changes from summer to fall, the way it spreads over the marsh as it starts to change color, and casts different shadows through the house. i would love some old tall windows like these. i have been wanting a hanging chair in the living room and looking forward i will have one......... this is the one i really want, clear modern roundness...i would like to use a vintage characteristic chain i really love this as well, i'd like one of these at the dining room table the two of these look great in the rounded space, they'd be great in our current living room.... mmmmm, reading nook with a view.. i think it is safe to say, this is incredibly close to the interior that keeps me up at night. i love the yellow and grey and mellow honey wood. this is a cheerful interior. ready for my next project, no really, READY! i love that staircase and all that beaming light. on a day like today, with the doors open reading, dreamy!! did i mention i love those floors?? great colors. i fancy myself a caretaker of succulents, i am pretty okay at taking care of them. months ago i saw this photo shoot and there is not much about this interior i do not love. check it out. |
